[my projects]

Fiat used various Weber carburetors throughout the production of the 124 Spider.  By 1980, Spiders received the Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection system.  I have written a Carburetor FAQ on upgrading your Spider’s carburetor to improve performance and reliability.  You can get diagrams and more information on your carburetor by selecting it from the series below.

I have also compiled a table of all carburetor specifications.  It contains data for the various carbs mounted to the various Spider engines.  See it here.

34DFH

Very early Spiders and Coupes, pre-1970.

28/32 ADHA and DHSA

Vacuum operated carburetors fitted to some mid and early 70’s cars and all federal 79 and 80 Spiders.  Both are good candidates for replacement with mechanical type carbs.

40 IDF

Early 70’s Spiders and Coupes sold outside the U.S.  Installed in a double-carburetor configuration.  A very popular performance upgrade for any carbureted Spider.

Bosch L-Jetronic Fuel Injection

In 1980 Spiders received a boost in performance and efficiency with fuel injection.  A fine system used on almost every European and Japanese car in the 1980’s.

34 DMSA

The largest progressive carburetor fitted to Spiders from the factory; a potent performance upgrade for any Spider, especially those with mechanical chokes.

32 ADFA

Fitted to late 1800cc Spiders, the 32ADFA is a powerful, automatic choke carburetor.  A great carb for any Spider.  It has a big brother, the 34ADF - though never mounted to a stock car they are a very powerful upgrade that maintain stock emissions and choke controls.
