De kersverse Nederlandse Vereniging in Ethiopie (NVE, kan 't knulliger?) organiseerde een leuk uitje in Addis Abeba: pannenkoeken eten in de trein van de keizer! Oorspronkelijk bedoeld voor kinderen, bleken ook Nederlanders en Vlamingen zonder kinderen geiinteresseerd. Verder wat huis-, tuin- en keukenplaatjes uit oktober.
The brand new Dutch Association in Ethiopia organised a half-day trip in Addis Ababa: eating pancakes in the Emperor's Train. Also some picures taken around the house in October. |

De trein van Haile Selassie staat in een open loods in het spoorwegmuseum. Rechts de restauratiewagen waar we later pannenkoeken hebben gegeten.
Haile Selassie's train is placed in a hangar at the railway museum. Left the wagon where we later ate our pancakes.

Yekuno wilde niet op de foto met de leeuw en Saman snapte niet dat zijn trein moest wachten. Maar gelukkig, daar kwam de rest al aan.
Yekuno didn't want his picture taken with the Lion of Judah and Saman was not happy to wait till his train could continue. But luckily the rest of the folks came soon enough.

Saman is erg trots op zijn nieuwe schoolbloes en spencer (?), het uniform voor de 'grades' (lagere school). Heel duidelijk dat hij, in tegenstelling tot Yekuno, niet meer bij de kleuters hoort!
Saman is very proud of his new 'grades' uniform. Very clearly Saman, contrary to Yekuno, is no longer a pre-schooler!
