Twee schoolfeesten / Two school parties

Het eindfeest van de Taaltoekel was op donderdag 12 juni en dat van Andinet op zaterdag 21 juni.  Hier wat plaatjes van elk feest. The end-of-year-party at the Dutch school took place on Thursday 12 June and that of Andinet International School on Saturday 21 June.  Here some pix of every party.

Saman: bijna/almost 6 jaar/ years,  Yekuno: 31/2 jaar/ years

Saman legt naast juf Wineke zijn tekening van het laatste project uit: verkeer!  Tussendoor zit hij af en toe zo te klieren met Tivo en Tal, dat de juf ze tot de orde moet roepen.  Overigens is iedereen over!  Yekuno klimpt rustig op een tafel met onbekende -maar Nederlandse- grote jongens on het beter te kunnen zien (grijns, heerlijk zoals ze zich op de Taaltoekel op hun gemak voelen). Saman presents, next to teacher Wineke, his drawing of the latest project: traffic!  As audience he is making fun with Tivo and Tal, to the extent that sometimes the teacher has to intervene.  Oh and everybody passed!  Yekuno is comfortable climbing a table with big unfamiliar -but Dutch- boys to better see the show (grin, great to see how they are so comfortable at the Dutch school). 12/06/08

Het eindejaarsfeest van Andinet International School was dit jaar in het Nationale Theater.  Fijn dat er ruim voldoende zitplaatsen waren, maar het podium was wel erg ver en donker.  Onze meeste fotos waren mislukt, snik!  Hier pre-KG A, Yekuno's klas, met onze man duidelijk herkenbaar iets links van het midden met wit t-shirt  - nog steeds de kleinste van de klas. End-of-year party of Andinet International School was held at the National Theatre.  Nice to have ample seating, but unfortunately the stage was very far and dark.  Most of our pictures failed, boohoo!  Here is pre-KG A, Yekuno's class, with our man a little left of the center in a white shirt - still the shortest in his class. 21/06/08

Saman's klas, Preparatory C, beeldde beroepen uit.  Hij en Mahalet waren dierenartsen. Saman's class showed various professions.  He and Mahalet were vets. 21/06/08

Het hoogtepunt van het feest: graduation!  Dit zeer on-Nederlandse fenomeen zet de kleuters in het zonnetje, omdat ze nu 'geslaagd' zijn en naar de grote school mogen.  Kompleet met togas, hoedjes en verdere toeters en bellen, zoals een handdruk van de directrice Nefertiti (links in geel).  Oef!  Helaas weer onscherpe fotos maar we proberen later nog wat toe te voegen. The climax of the party: graduation!  Not sure where it comes from, definitely not a Dutch phenomenom.  The 5 and 6 year olds are put in the spotlight (unfortunately not literally so) because they graduated from pre-school.  Complete with gowns, a hand shake from the director Nefertiti (left in yellow) and all.  What a weird ceremoney!  Alas again fuzzy photos but we try to add some later. 21/06/08

Hier de beloofde extra fotos.  Na een paar dagen bijkomen wilde Saman wel weer zijn toga aan en in de tuin poseren met zijn diploma. Here the promised additional pix.  After a few days of relaxation Saman was ready to put his gown back on and pose in the garden with his certificate. 25/06/08
