Koninginnendag / Dutch Queens Day 2007

Lekker verkleden als koning of prins voor het feest op de Nederlandse school. Dressing up as king or prince for the party at the Dutch school.

Saman: 4 1/2 jaar/ years,  Yekuno: 2 1/2 jaar/ years

Saman was met zijn mooie kroon (zie de blog) en mantel meer een echte koning dan een 'kumara' oftewel Sri Lankaanse prins, maar dat gaf lekker niks.  Let ook op de 'zilveren' gespen aan de sandalen. Saman was with his splendid (if I may say so myself) crown and robe more a king that a 'kumara' = Sri Lankan prince, but who cares.  Do note the 'silver'  clasps on his sandals. 28/04/07

Toen wilde Yekuno ook een kroon (zie alweer de blog) en uiteindelijk werd hij een echt prinsje met het Syrische pakje uit Jordanie! Then Yekuno also wanted a crown and eventually he became a real prince with his Syrian costume bought in Jordan! 28/04/07

Aan het eind van de ochtend toen we hem gingen ophalen, was Saman zo moe dat hij alleen nog maar boos kon kijken.  Yekuno leefde zich uit op het speelgoed van de Nederlandse school, maar uiteindelijk waren ze beiden zo uitgeput dat ze huilend afgevoerd moesten worden. At the end of the morning when we went to pick him up, Saman was so tired he could only cast angry looks.  Yekuno had fun with the toys in the Dutch school, but evenutally both wese so exhausted we had to carry them off crying. 28/04/07

Maar later op de dag, na wat rust, was er weer energie genoeg om -lekker zonder koninklijke kleren- thuis te spelen.  Saman had een originele hinkelbaan gemaakt en de jongens renden zo hard, dat het lastig was om een foto te maken. But later in the day after a bit of rest, both had sufficient energy to -comfortably without royal attire- play at home.  The boys were running so fast it was hard to capture them on a photo. 28/04/07
