Gil can be found so many ways and in such great amounts that it all depends on what you like to do. If you don't have the time to go spend hours farming, do gardening. If you like big bucks, go for a craft or maybe two. But it's usually better to be great at one than ok at all. What I like the most is farming, killing monsters then selling the items they drop is good and you can get EXP out of the deal. Some of the better things to kill are Dancing Weapons on Qufim Island because they drop Kaiser Swords which sell for 5k each, but don't try that till lv 32-34. Other things are Copper Quadavs, their Quadav Backplates sell for 600 gil and they drop 5-40 gil each. The best overall place to farm is Pashow Marshlands, and I listed the monsters of interest there.

3) Carniverous Crawler
4) Goobue
5) Malbaro
So those each drop items that can sell for 600-1,000 gil, and in large amounts you'll be rich quick. I suggest anyone over lv 30 goes and spends at least 60 min. there farming the monsters I listed. But remember it all depends on what you want...
