| Final Fantasy XI Job System FFXI brings back the tried-and-true job system of Final Fantasy Tactics. The following is a list of available jobs so far in the FFXI beta version. Warrior The master in armed combat. They recieve a large amount of hit points and can deal a large amount of damage. They take the hits for the party and are usualy the first to die. Elvaan make great Warriors. White Mage Masters of healing and curative magics. They're useless on their own, but any self-respecting party would accept the aid of a White Mage, because constantly using potions and pheonix downs can be very costly. Black Mage Wielders of highly destructive magics. Doesn't recieve a lot of hit points, but does revieve a large amount of magic points. While weak on their own, a party with support from a Black Mage can be very deadly. Tarataru make great Black Mages. Red Mage They are a Black Mage, White Mage, and Warrior all in one. Probobly also known as a "Tank Mage"; one who doesn't need to join a party, and can pretty much survive on their own. A jack of all trades, though a king of none. Thief Fast and agile characters. Can steal (with upgrades such as mug) from monsters and possibly other characters. Probobly won't recieve many hit points, but doesn't get hit much either, so it evens out. Mithras make good Thieves. Monk Master of unarmed combat. Can access martial arts (like in Final Fantasy Tactics). Doesn't need to buy melee equipment, making it easier to save up for other things. Probobly restricted to lighter types of equipment. |
