September 11 Should Be A Day Of Remembrance, Blah, Blah, Blah Washington, DC-President Bush, in an official White House press statement, told reporters that "September 11 should be a day of remembrance, blah blah blah." He proceeded to add, "Many brave Americans gave their lives, yada yada yada," and also "We can never forget this [yawn] day. It was a day of great sorrow, yeah, yeah." Bush ended his speech by saying "We will catch whoever is responsible for this, I guess. Meh, whatever." The President’s lackluster speech astonished all who were present, and left many speechless. "How can President Bush take such an apathetic approach to this?" asked CNN’s Wolfe Blitzer. "Doesn’t he know how important this day is to many people?" Bush defended his remarks, stating that "There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t been said before. Bad stuff happened, we were sad, we’re seeking vengeance-nothing new. Trust me, we’ll let you know if there are any serious change in plans." Many Americans were outraged at Bush, and some even went so far as to say that Bush is a ‘communist’. "I need my opinions affirmed and validated," says Roger Buchram, Knoxville. "How can the healing process drag on for generations if even the President isn’t willing to recite the same lines over and over again?" It is expected that most Americans will continue to mourn those who died on September 11, and will ignore Bush’s remarks, and instead enjoy the much-anticipated day of celebration.
