Nobel Prizes
In 1903, Marie Skidowska Curie was awarded 1/4 of te Nobel Prize for Physics in recognition of the extraordinary services she rendered by the research on the radiation phenomena. Pierre Curie also recieved 1/4 of the prize and Henri Becquerel was honored with the other half of the prize. Marie became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize for Physics. The share of the Nobel Prize alleviated all the financial worried of the Curies along with increasing their fame.

In 1911, Marie was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in recognition to her services to the advancement of shemistry by the discovery of the elements radium and Rolonium.
