It all began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven to the Dwarf Lords...
great miners and craftsmen in their Mountain Halls. And nine were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else, desire power...
In The Fellowship of the Ring it all begins. That is, it all begins for Frodo Baggins and his companions, for the history of the world that has lead towards the growing threat of Sauron, former servant of the evil Vala Morgoth, already began before Men walked upon Middle Earth. But now, in the Third Age of the world, it all comes down to a little Hobbit who must face impossible danger and destroy the One Ring of Power, before all in Middle Earth that is good will fall under the dark Shadow of Mordor.

But Frodo Baggins does not have to face this task alone. A Fellowship of brave companions sets out with him towards Mordor, where Sauron is regaining more and more of his strength. They face many dangers and obstacles, like the nine
Nazgul, Ringwraiths of Sauron; the treachery of the wizard Saruman;  the deep darkness of Moria where even older and fouler things dwell than Orcs and the threat of Saruman s horrible army of Uruk-Hai. In the end, the members of the Fellowship of the Ring will have to part their ways, but it is their bond of friendship and loyalty that will enable them to make a powerful stand against Sauron in the events and adventures that are yet to face.

During their journey the Fellowship has many dealings with the
Elves, who aid them as wise and powerful allies against Sauron, even though their time on Middle Earth is ending and they are sailing out to the shores of Valinor, the Undying Lands. Therefore, the Fellowship is often confronted with the Elven speech.
