Fem5_11, otherwise known as Jeanne (the french spelling). Dunno where the french spelling came from other than I have an Auntie Jeanne who spells it that way... because our heritage is NOT french. Guilt by association in Canada perhaps? I live in White Rock, British Columbia. It's a small burg south of Vancouver, on the water and right on the Canadian/ US border. White Rock is mostly frequented by tourists looking to enjoy a seaside village, and they will not be disappointed. There is every kind of restaurant, each with outside dining year round, and a constant parade of humanity to watch pass by. Please reference the White Rock page and links for more information.
I work in Healthcare, and these days that's not saying much. Patient care is very important to me, to humanize the experience, and be a patient advocate as much as possible, makes the job rewarding most of the time. It's a different kind of work, dealing with the ill, exposed to deaths, births and human suffering... it certainly has its tribulations and benedictions. Never knowing what is going to happen next adds a little adrenaline to the mix. |

I certainly enjoy reading, and as some are aware, writing. I enjoy spending quality time with people in my life, and that includes spending time over a fine meal, glass of wine, or simply chatting over Chai lattes at my favourite neighbourhood haunt. I've not been in the best shape over the last few years, and although there have been medical complications that contributed to my decline, it's mostly laziness and lacking the impetus to get it together. Slowly I'm coming into my own, getting more active, and look forward to cultivating relationships that encourage and inspire continued physical activity.
Among some of my other pursuits, I enjoy playing the piano (albeit not well by professional standards), like to learn about foreign cultures and learn to speak the language. That would fall under the category of "Jack of many languages, Master of none". I can be quite facetious, and I like that better than sarcastic, because sarcasm can be biting and cruel... and I don't aspire to that kind of behaviour. Having a sharp tongue and a quick mind can get me into a lot of trouble, but tempered with a good sense of humour and a sprinkle of humility... I try to scrape my way out of being in deep caca. |

My true friends and family are quite extraordinary for so many reasons. Each have something about them that distinguishes them, and endears them. Although we don't get to see each other nearly enough, the appreciation is there nonetheless. Some of them (the less shy) are featured on the photo pages linked to this site. |
