Well, Fellowship of the Fans is about to host their very first party! It is to be held December 28-30th, 2007. We will have a RPG running only during those days, an in-depth discussion about finding underlying values in Lord of the Rings, a scavenger hunt (with prizes for the winners!), brand-new personalized avatars and banners for attendees, and the release of song parodies. It will be held at FotF Forums (click on the button in the navigation bar). RSVP by December 26th by posting in the appropriate forum thread. Hope to see you there!! Please bring friends! Contests Fan Fiction Contest For this contest, all contestants need to write a fan fiction story of at least 500 words about Lord of the Rings characters and/or events. You are allowed to make up characters. There will be three different divisions -- Romance, Humor, and General/Adventure -- with three winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) in each division. The prize for 1st will be a custom banner and avatar, promotion to the next level (forum membership required), and 5 karma points (forum membership required). The prize for 2nd will be a custom banner, the addition of 50 posts (forum membership required), and 3 karma points (forum membership required). The prize for 3rd place will be a custom avatar, the addition of 10 posts (forum membership required), and 2 karma points (forum membership required). The rest of the stories will be able to be viewed (all honorable mentions get 1 karma point [forum membership required] and an increased chance of becoming a staff member is desired). All entries need to be emailed or PMed to me by February 29, 2008. If you choose to email, either copy/paste it into the body of the email or attach a WORDPAD document to the email. The prize for 1st will be your graphics featured on the website and forum, promotion to the next level (forum membership required), and 5 karma points (forum membership required). The prize for 2nd will be a link to your graphic on the website and forum, the addition of 50 posts (forum membership required), and 3 karma points (forum membership required). The prize for 3rd place will be an automatic entry into the next fan graphics contest, the addition of 10 posts (forum membership required), and 2 karma points (forum membership required). The rest of the graphics will be able to be viewed (all honorable mentions get 1 karma point [forum membership required] and an increased chance of becoming a staff member if desired).
