                        "Creative Girl Strikes Again!"
                                               by Felicia Samson
Once upon a time, there lived a girl in Zuni named Kimmie.  She liked to draw, and she liked to paint.  She liked to create. Kimmie wrote poetry too.
Meanwhile, a teacher named Ms. Felicia wanted her students to integrate art and music into their regular academic activities.  So, Ms. Felicia encouraged her students to draw, paint, create, and participate in contests.
They were both at St. Anthony's. The other students in the class also liked to draw, paint, and create.  They thought it was fun to include these activities in their daily schedules, and integrate their language arts and math activities.
"Would you like to enter the Ancient Way design contest?" Ms. Felicia said to her students one day.
"That sounds fun," her students replied.
   "Look!  There's a prize of $150!" a student shouted.
"Wow," Ms. Felicia mused, "that's a lot of pizza at ChuChu's!"
Suddenly, the day for the posters to be submitted had arrived! Ms. Felicia collected the posters, packaged them, and sent them off at the post office.  Now all they had to do was wait.
"Do you think any of us won?" a student asked months later..
"Well, some of us won at the Writing Contest for the Art Gallery..." one said hopefully.
"And some of us won at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center's Art and Poetry Show," added another.
Then a letter came. "Dear Kimberly," it began."Congratulations!"
    "Hurray!" said the class.
Creative Girl had done it again!
