| BEST CAROB/ CHOCOLATE CAKE 2 C Flour 2 C Sugar 1/2 C Shortening 3/4 C Water 3/4 C Soured Milk (Milk with 2 tbsp of vinegar) 1 tsp Baking soda 1 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Baking powder 1 tsp vanilla 4 ounces Caorb or Chocolate chips, melted Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 round pans or a 13 x 9 inch pan. Cream sugar and shortening together with a hand mixer. Add milk and water. Mix in flour, b.soda, salt, p. powder and vanilla. Add melted chips and mix until creamy. Pour into pans and bake for 30-45 minutes depending on what pans. 30 for small rounds - 45 for large 13 inch pan. Cool. Frost with Carob or Chocolate Icing Carob / Chocolate Icing #1 Carob/ Chocolate Icing #2 |
