Hmong Village Ministries
Life is very hard in a Hmong village. There is disease and danger all around.

The girl in the picture was  scalded by a pot of hot food when someone accidentally stepped on a protruding log under the pot. She received three degree burns on her left side and  back, left leg, and right shoulder.

A simple cut, scratch, or insect bite can develop into a very serious infection. Those working in the field die of heat stroke. Babies often die of dehydration. Death from childhood disease is common. There are disease latent mosquitos transmitting malaria. Many adults and children have parasites and lice.

Drugs are a very serious problem in the villages. Many Hmong men are in prison, leaving wives and children to survive alone.

Satan has captured the hearts and minds of the people through their animist beliefs. Not only do they need medical and physical help, but they need Christ in there heart.

HIM has started a ministry of teaching first aid and personal hyiene. As their cuts and sores are cleaned, they are told of the total cleansing power and love of Christ.

HIM works closely with a Hmong IMB missionary, Seng Herr in the Hmong Village Ministries.

U.S. Hmong Baptist pastors are recruited to serve in Leadership Training positions and short-term mission projects, hold revivals, teach the Bible, and encourage new Christins along side Bro. Herr.

HIM also is recruiting College and High School kids for short-term projects.

ESL classes and Hmong literacy classes are held in church buildings and peoples homes. Children Bible classes are held during the adult studies.

There are classes for women on nutrition, personal hyiene, child care and first aid.
