Hizon scores the first point by
achieving CTM norm
VP Education Rosette Hizon earned her Competent
Toastmasters (CTM) norm last Friday, September 6 at Fluor
Daniel Manila office. Her last speech titled, "The
Feeling of Magic" completed the ten (10) basic
speeches required by the Toastmasters International (TI)
on "Communication and Leadership Program"
manual. She marked the first point for the club goal this
TM year 2002 2003 and was the fifth member of the
club to achieve CTM norm within this year.
"Rosette's speech made us feel young again as we
remembered our first love. For this reason, she was able
to successfully presented the objective of her 10th
speech which is to inspire the audience." said ATM
Rene Aquino who evaluated the content of her speech.

Area 73 Governor Pam Castro. President Eddie Boy

"Falling in love is the most important magic in
woman's life. Strong points of her speech included using
metaphors, the nice opening and closing and the vivid
description painted throughout making the audience drift
to their past when they were still so in love" said
Area 73 Governor Pam Castro who also evaluated Rosette
speech on delivery.
President Eddie Boy Lontok,Jr. said "It is with
great pride and honor that VPE - Rosette Hizon earned her
CTM norm. This contribution is the first building block
for FDIP TM Club's vision to accomplish the Distinguish
Club Award. In behalf of the officers and members of FDIP
TM Club we congratulate CTM VPE - Rosette Hizon for this
milestone."

Fluor Toastmasters Clubs Officers Induction
Division H Governor Johnny Goloyugo officially inducted
Toastmasters officers of FDIP and Fluor Master Speakers
last Wednesday, September 4 at Executive Room 305, 3rd
Floor for Toastmaster year 2002 - 2003. He charged and
installed both club officers one-by-one to remind them of
their roles and responsibilities in achieving the club
goals.
Past District Governor DTM Wilma De Mesa in her
inspirational talk about M.A.G.I.C. M is

is Guts, I is Inspire and C
is Create.
HR Manager Ethel Odilao commented that being a
Toastmasters is a great opportunity that the Company is
offering to the employee as part of their communication
and leadership skills enhancement. The Management is
extending
its congratulations for both Club's successes.
Area 73 Governor Pam Castro assisted Goloyugo in
discharging the outgoing officers. Elected President
Eddie Boy Lontok,Jr. in his inaugural speech said that
"We accomplished four goals out of a possible
ten" this year. I plan to target seven goals and be
recognized as Select Distinguished Club. {more on

Patawaran accepts Distinguished
Service Award
Past President CTM Gladdy Patawaran received the District
75 Distinguished Service Award, a recognition presented
to her by District 75 Governor Wilma Demesa, DTM last
August 2, 2002 in Max Restaurant, Jupiter, Makati.
The occasion dubbed as the "When the Stars
Shine" acknowledged the contributions made by
various clubs under Demesa for making the Philippines
District 75 raised from last to rank 37 among all
Toastmasters districts internationally. It also coincided
with a tribute given to Demesa who ended her TM term last
June 2002.
"This is the fruit of our labor," said
Patawaran. She also thanked the officers for support and
encouragement that the club goals achieved during her
term by producing four CTMs and meeting other club goals.

July 2002 highlights...
Club Officers Training
The 1st District-sponsored Club training held last July
6, 2002 at Multi-purpose Camp Crame, Quezon City was
attended by President Eddie Boy Lontok,Jr., VP PRO Rico
Abibas, Secretary Malen Venzon and Outgoing President
Gladdy Patawaran, CTM. Fluor Master VP PRO Farah Dela
Cruz joined in the FDIP table for Division H Area 73.
Although it rained heavily on that day, newly officers
from various clubs around District 75 were present.
"The show must go on, despite the increment
weather" announced the TMD. In her welcome remarks,
DTM Nona Ricafort reminds all the clubs that the
"success depends upon the initiatives of its
officers and members". In the afternoon of the
training, there were break-out sessions held for every
officers.
