Magnaye achieves CTM norm

VP for Membership Maria X Magnaye achieved the Competent Toastmaster norm last Friday, March 15, 2002 at the Fluor Daniel Manila office. She delivered her 10th and last speech project about her recent adventure trip to Thailand and was the first to graduate among members of the FDIP Toastmaster Club.

Division H Governor ATM Alma Silla merited a CTM pin to VP for Membership, now CTM Maria X Magnaye after she successfully delivered her last speech completing ten basic speech projects as required by the Toastmasters International's manual, "Communication and Leadership Program".

"I know that this is just a beginning of being a Toastmaster and I am very grateful to the Company for this wonderful and great opportunity. Now I will focus myself to accomplish the Advanced Toastmaster level" said Magnaye.

Tambuli 2160 President Mike Jacinto together with ATM Rene Aquino evaluated the content of Magnaye's speech objective which is to inspire the audience. "The best asset of X Magnaye is that of her good voice. She has a very good voice quality and a natural facial expression" said Governor Alma Silla, who also evaluated Magnaye on how she was able to deliver her speech. "Even if you have a good speech but failed to deliver it well, your speech is nothing" explained Silla.

This is again another milestone for the club as it earned points for targetting club goals this year. The second candidate most likely to graduate is former President Tony Soria (see Speech Bar progress). Last month, the club placed 3rd place in a local TM speech competition (see detail below).

The session was very lively. Earlier on the program, Secretary Rico Abibas hosted the Table Topic Master where he led toastmasters to do a sales presentation, "Wanna Buy" defective products.
