What does a counselor do?
*  Talks with students individually and in groups
*  Works with potentially "at risk" students
*  Listens to concerns of parents, teachers and students
*  Uses test data to provide information about abilities, interests & needs
*  Coordinates referrals to community resources
*  Helps students cope with psycho-social development issues
*  Helps with school, college, job, career & personal plans
*  Coordinates with other school specialists
*  Responds to indentified concerns
*  Participates in curriculum development
*  Helps students relate to each other
*  Gains understanding of students through classroom observations
