| Things to do in the 11th Grade to get ready for college: |

| In the fall: Meet with your counselor to review your academic record and ensure that you are on track to meet graduation requirements & college entrance requirements. Take the PSAT in the fall at BHS to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship. Begin preparing for the SAT through SAT Prep courses, books or online resources. Find out the schedules and get registered for the SAT, SAT II and ACT. In the spring: Take the SAT, SAT II and/or the ACT Consider applying your top chioce college for early decision. Select courses for your senior year that may strengthen your academic record. Check your transcript at the end of the year to make sure it is correct. Tour college campuses that are further away during spring break. Take AP Exams if necessary. All year long: Attend college fairs and college planning sessions Begin to focus your college research: compare admissions requirements with your credentials Visit college campuses and meet with admissions officers. Contine to save for college and begin to research financial aide opportunities. |
