COMMITTEES:
Membership:
Work to maintain and increase the membership of the organization, by
soliciting for new members and securing renewals.
Legal Redress:
Investigate
Through study and investigation of local and public school conditions,
seek to eliminateand inform the National Office on reported cases of segregation
and discrimination. Supervise Branch related litigation.
Education:
Through study and investigation of local
and public school conditions, seek to eliminate segregation and discrimination
in public schooling.
Housing:
Study housing conditions and seek to eliminate discrimination in housing
by addressing complaints, opposing restrictive practices
and disseminating information and assistance.
Religious Affairs:
Promote moral and ethical interpertation of the civil rights struggle
and the work of the Association to religious groups of all
faiths, while enlisting their support.
Freedom Fund:
Plan and conduct fund-raising activities for local and national purposes
within the scope of the Association's program.
Veterans' Affairs:
Monitor national, state and local government programs available to
members of various Armed Services and Veterans to ensure they are
administered fairly and justly to the minority community.
Community Actions:
Enlist the support of community organizations on issues affecting the
interest of minority groups.
Political Action:
Increase minority registration and voting, and work for legislation to
improve the educational, political and economic status of minority
groups.
