About My Self

Krabi, Thailand

Krabi on the west coast of southern Thailand at the mouth of the Krabi River where it empties in Phang Nga Bay. As of 2010 the town had a population of 52,867. The town is the capital of Krabi Province and Krabi District. Tourism is an important industry. Krabi is 783 km south of Bangkok by road. Then, Krabi also is a southern province on Thailand's Andaman seaboard with perhaps the country's oldest history of continued settlement. After dating stone tools, ancient colored pictures, beads, pottery, and skeletal remains found in the province's many cliffs and caves, it is thought that Krabi has been home to Homo sapiens since c. 25,000 until 35,000 BCE. In recorded times it was called the "Ban Thai Samor", and was one of twelve towns that used, before people were widely literate, the monkey for their standard. At that time, c. 1200 CE, Krabi was tributary to the Kingdom of Ligor, a city on the Kra Peninsula's east coast better known today as Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Krabi also is a small, charming, silent at times and appropriate for a days walking tour. Besides, Krabi Town is full of old buildings, bars and restaurants, local exotic marketplace and food stalls at the old Chao Fa pier where you can sample the local Thai & Muslim food. The Krabi motto is lively town, lovely people. So, I always recommended that to all my friends to spend their precious time instead in Krabi rather than in more famous neighbour Phuket, which has become overdeveloped and overrun with tourists and girlie bars.

1) Ao Nang Beach

The beach town of Ao Nang is only take 20 kilometres away. This is one of the tourist central in the Krabi. Other than that, with the highest concentration of hotels, resorts, restaurants and shopping, as well as good transport infrastructure inland and offshore, it is the ideal place to base your Thailand holiday. Then, there is a wide range of accommodation available, although prices tend to be comparatively higher than those in the north and Bangkok but this is true of all the beaches and islands in Thailand. Despite its rapid development over the recent decade, Ao Nang cannot be considered as spoiled. This beaches town is far from becoming like Phuket. It is much smaller, with no high rise buildings, and most to the businesses are still locally owned and run, giving the place a laid back charm.Because everything is concentrated in a small are around the main beach road, Ao Nang is very convenient to get around. Most places, including the beach, will be within short walking distance from your hotel. Hence, Ao Nang itself is a pretty, palm lined strectch of sand, dominated by the large cliffs at its southern tip.

2) Railay Beach

Railay beach is one of the beautiful beach in Krabi. After sunset, which is often a spectacular show seen from the beach. The beachfront comes alive as people return from the islands and set off, freshly showered and dressed up for a night out. Shopping, eating, drinking are what is done best here. There is a large choice of restaurants, particularly for Western food halal. Despite that, the beachfront has earned the nickname as Little Italy. In Railay beach also incuded message shops, spas and beauty parlours that was stay in open late, so if you want to message, you can go for it after your hard day island-hoping. Alternatively, you also can sit in a roadside bar and people watch, or sip a pina colada under the stars at the beach bar on the sand.

3) Noppharat Thara Beach

Just take only 3kilometres around the corner from Ao Nang, is a long beach yet still rather underdeveloped, with only a few resorts and bars. Attractive because of its natural settings, this is where local youngsters and families gather at sunset and at weekends. Savour some local muslim snacks at the beach stalls, or fill yourself with seafood in the local restaurants at the very end of the beach, near the Noppharat Thara National Park headquarters. At low tide, walk out together with millions of small crabs on the sandy pathways to the small islands near the beach. At this beach, you also can try snorkelling. This is one of the best experienced that you ever get.

4) Koh Phi Phi Islands

Refer to the habited Koh Phi Don as opposed to the uninhabited Phi Phi Leh is one of the most beautiful of the Andaman Sea Islands belonging to Thailand. In fact, there are several islands in the archipelago, but only has any development. Most visitors come for a day trip, while other stay on Phi Phi Don. Words to the little justice to the awesome coastel scenery surrounding the islands and while photographs can capture the essence, those who experience it for themselves will tell you that the real things is worth a thousand words or pictures. Other than that, in 2004, the tsunami look its toll on the island and burgeoning tourist development was completely devastated. The recovery has been slow due to the authorities reluctance to allow unchecked development too close to the beach, which has actually has a positive effect on the island. Although there are fewer beds available on the island, those who came as day trippers experience a much more beautiful Phi Phi Don.
