Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting


Ingredients

For the cake:-

Butter-1 cup
Sugar powdered- 2 � cup
Eggs- 4
Vanilla essence- 2 tsp
Cocoa powder- 1 cup
Hot boiling water-2 cups
Flour- 2 � cups
Baking soda- 2 tsp
Baking powder- � tsp
Salt- � tsp

For the frosting:-

Butter- 1 cup
Chocolate chips- 1 cup
Fresh cream- � cup
Icing sugar- 2 � cups

Method

For the cake:-

1. Sieve together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt, thrice.
2. To the cocoa powder add hot boiling water and blend well to get homogeneous mixture.
3. Cream butter and sugar until light. To this add eggs one by one and mix well.
4. Now add in vanilla essence.
5. Fold in sieved dry ingredients and cocoa mixture alternately into the butter mixture.
6. Pour into greased and lined cake tin and bake in a preheated oven at 180 Degree C for 40 min or until a tester inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean. Cool the cake.

For the chocolate frosting:-

1. Mix in butter, chocolate chips, fresh cream and icing sugar.
2. Heat the mixture, stirring continuously until well blended.
3. Cut the chocolate cake horizontally into 2 slices.
4. Place one part on a plate and spread half the frosting on it. Sandwich with the second cake slice. Pour the remaining frosting over it. Spread it over and the sides of the cake.
5. Allow the frosting to set. Cut into wedges and serve.
