We are located on 2 acres in Northern Utah, where our Boarding and Training Facility is. Although we are not an official "rescue", we will help place dogs that no longer have homes for various reasons. We work with the local Animal Control and a few of the local Rescue Groups. We have two to three litters of pups per year, keeping back promising pups for the UKC Show Ring, and for our breeding program, or placing pups in approved homes. We hold Russell Fun Days on our property at least twice a year, which includes Go-To-Ground, and Racing events as well as Conformation (for fun) and Trick Classes. We are fortunate to live in an area where fox is abundant, and are able to hunt on a regular basis. We get many calls from the community to help rid their barns of Raccoon. We worked with the University of Utah to rid an island of fox that were disturbing their "Grouse" study. Jim will take interested parties in to the "field" and guide them in the safety of taking Terriers to ground in the natural hunt. Jim and Sally Parcher |
| We were introduced to the Russell Terrier in 1997, having purchased a Pet Quality male pup. We became very much involved with the English Jack Russell Terrier Club after attending a "Fun Day", hosted by the club. Within the first year, we had purchased two more Russell Terriers and were on our way to building our dreams of someday becoming the type of breeder that were not only just ethical, but people who love their dogs, work their dogs and breed only for the purpose of preserving the Russell Terrier as a working breed, paying close attention to temperament (as a lot of our pups go to homes with small children). We do not line-breed or in-breed, which assures us of great temperament and health.
The Russell Terrier was recognized by the United Kennel Club in January 2001. All of our adult dogs went into the UKC Registry as the Foundation Sires and Dams of the Breed. All of our dogs and pups are registered with UKC and with the Short Legged Jack Russell Terrier Club. We show our dogs in conformation with UKC, but our main interests are the hunting aspects of the dogs, and will be competing in the Racing and Go-To-Ground events as soon as available from UKC. Jim is certified as a Professional Dog Trainer through the West Virginia Canine College. He holds Obedience Training Classes on all levels, and specializes in Behavioral Problems. I completed an Animal Science course and am an Animal Care Specialist. |
