Hi there. As you can see - I'm climbing down the side of a hill. You have to grab this rope to help keep your balance. At one point I even reached a spot where I couldn't drop down so I had to ask for help from my taller friend. LOL. Enjoy my pictures and feel free to surf my site.
I reached the end of the cable rope and now here I am actually going for a swim. It's super cold in there. I don't know if you've noticed - there are people at the top of the falls. This section is actually hard to reach and requires some major work. The fact that it's so isolated makes it completely worth it. Now, if I could only find a solution to the wet sock dilemma.
Here I am at yet another waterfall. You'd think I'd be a raisin by now. In this picture you can actually see me. I'm holding my arms out of the water because it's FREEZING cold in there. Sigh, if only the water could be a bit warmer. But the beauty makes up for the momentary chill of jumping in.
This picture was taken during one of my trips. I'm not really sure where but it was a pretty scene. There's something about the complexity of all the pieces that just looks right.
I've actually got a pretty funny story about this picture. My best friend and I were walking through these natural magnolia trees and well - a visitor fell on my shoulder. A very heavy and sticky thing. Of course, while I love the outdoors - I really hate huge bugs that land on me. I think this is just an instinct of most women. Several screams later and my frantic pleas to remove the offending bug sent my best friend over the edge with hysterical laughter. Needless to say - I soon discovered my panic was over a flower that had drifted down from above. God does have a sense of humor.
It's amazing how the fog settles in and leaves you with this feeling like you've stepped into another world. Take a look at how much of a difference the sun makes when it finally comes out.
Rainbow Falls are the outcome of this journey. It's amazing how the camera can capture a moment in time. This is where I can say I was in the right place at the right time. I have several other shots all taken of this same waterfall - but none captured that breathtaking moment when the sun lit the entire area.
Just so you get an idea of the types of places you'll find when you're on the trail, take a look at this picture that's on the left.
You can see the moss on the edge of the river here. There are trees blooming and it's just a beautiful day in general.
