Nancy: Body For Life Information
This page is intended to give you a little bit more information about the Body For Life program. I highly recommend getting the book and reading it over, but until you do, I have jotted down some of it's information for you here.

Body For Life, after time, is really a lifestyle change. It promotes good nutrition, exercise and supplementation. All things that through much trial and error I have learned work! And they work "TOGETHER". I've tried many times to leave out one thing or another and found that I just didn't get very far. It's all about balance. Just as in all other areas of our life, if something is out of whack or ignored, we will see and feel the consequences of it. When our lives are balanced, we are able to handle all areas of our lives better. In the beginning it may be hard to readjust, but in a short while it becomes habit and then of course second nature. I was really surprised to find over the last 12 or so weeks that I just didn't want to eat things that were bad for me. What??? Not want ice cream or cookies or candy? I'll admit, I was tempted a few times, but when it came down to it, I couldn't bring myself to do ... to destroy what I was working towards. On the program, one day a week you get a 'Free Day' where you can eat all the junk your heart desires. Sounds good, doesn't it? For some reason, this didn't sound so good to me last time. I saw it as taking steps in the wrong direction. Many see it as a welcomed rest from the program and embrace it full full-heartedly. I did that a couple of times. I ate ice cream with a cookie crumbled on top and once pop corn with lots of butter. Man! I felt awful both times I did this! It was so not worth it! It didn't even taste as good as I remembered it. But that is me. You may find that Free Day is the only thing that keeps you going. If this is true for you, go for it. Just as long as you keep going and see those dreams fulfilled! Who knows, maybe in this next 12 week period I will get a craving for something not so good for me, indulge and actually enjoy it. ;)

So again to summarize the program it's all about eating right, exercising with a combo of cadiovascular and weight work outs, drinking plenty of water, proper supplementation,  adequate rest and setting goals. I really like what one of the former champions said about it, "The Body For Life program is a mental exercise. The weights and the body are just tools used to learn the lessons it teaches." I like that!
