On Saturday we were joined by our "other son" Matt Kunz and his lovely wife Kelly, and a rousing game(s) of Croquet ensued... for 5 hours! And of course we had to throw in some Bocce Ball at the end! It was a great day of laughing and acting stupid, as only the Stroede's can do.
On Sunday, Mikey's big day arrived. He looked so handsome in his little white suit. (see Mikey's website for pics). After a really nice service and a little crying from someone who didn't like bumping his head or having water poured over his head, we went back to Mike and Kendie's house for lunch and presents. What a blessed little boy he is to have so many people love him. The biggest event of the day? (In my little mind) I was FINALLY able to duplicate Grammy's recipe of American Potato salad. Jean would never write it down for me, as she always cooked to taste and not by recipe. Well that's definitely not me, but I finally did it (with the help of Kelly Kunz)! At least that's what my favorite guys tell me. Michael and Mike gave it the thumbs up. I was so happy.
Anyhow, all good things must come to an end so we bid them goodbye Sunday afternoon and headed North. It's always great to visit, but it's also nice to come home.
