Memorial Weekend 2005
May 27-30, 2005
I AM THE FEMALE WALLEYE MASTER! I kicked Amy and Sandy's butt in the women's division.  They never had a chance.  I'll have you know that my grand total of fish was 6 walleye and 1 crappie.  And they were all HUGE!  The guys were so impressed THEY were asking ME what they should use fishing.  FYI, I prefer the little fuschia or chartreuese colored jiggy things, with a fathead.  You can cast or dead man it, doesn't matter. Let me know if you have any other questions fellas.

It was dog heaven at our house.  Mikey LOVED it.  He tried so hard to chase them in his little walker.  Angus proved to be the Alpha dog, totally tormenting our newest grandson Drake. (Mike's black lab).  Toby just liked sniffing his butt, and Putz and Sadie just stayed out of the way of them all.

All in all, a great weekend weatherwise and companywise.  It was the perfect size crew so that we could all enjoy the firepit at night and fishing during the days.  We threw in a little craft project or two, as you can see by my beautiful tables.  Sorry Sandy, but the pot idea just isn't working.  Everytime the deck heats up, more stone are falling off.  Sigh.  But it was adorable while it lasted!

Naturally, we hit the town of Winter's Spring Fling on Saturday after we cleaned the church (of all week's for it to be our turn).  But we found a jackpot baby rummage sale, and the guys enjoyed some good chow.

Between rain showers, we played cribbage on our fabulous new deck coffee table (which Amy seems to think is her private chair.  hmpf!) At least Amy was able to brush up on her card playing skills, but she still can't beat a 10 year old.  Keep trying Ames.  We'll play again in August! (sucker).

Sandy was the big winner in the NASCAR pool.  Congrats!  She even took pity on my little money grubs and gave them their money back that they invested. You're too kind Sandra Dee. And so you know, you had an effect on them, as Taylor and Nick told me later that they aren't ever going to gamble again because it's takes FOREVER to earn the money but not to lose it.  Yeah.  We'll see.  :-)

On the way back to Fredonia, the wagon train home was going to swing by Dave and Sandy's place in Pickerel to check it out.  It sure looks nice.  We're looking forward to enjoying a weekend there next!

Thank you to all who came and enjoyed our weekend with us.  We appreciate the visit. This is #10 for us up here in Ojibwa.  Can you believe it?
