Medicine Wheel Vision Quest
I arose this morning to the Crow cawing up in the tree above my Medicine Wheel he is back again like clock work! It seemed like it was going to be a really nice day. The storm I was expecting passed by. Last night before retiring to sleep the wind began to blow hard and a storm seem to be approaching, as I could hear a slight rumbling in the background. So I prayed to Great Spirit for the storm to go to the west and he answered my prayer. First thing I did was to clean up the area from the night before and started a fire. I warmed myself up to knock off the chill, wrote in my journal and played my flute. Next I walked up stream, got naked, and washed my body in the icy cold stream which to me felt wonderful and got dressed! It was warm out and the sun was shining with scattered clouds in the light blue sky. I walked around gathering pine cones and sticks for the fire tonight. Around 10 am I walked down to the stream and behold there was a beautiful blue & black butterfly and a yellow & black one dancing gracefully in the area. I decided to go to a part of the stream where the water was falling over some rocks. Here I sat and meditating soaking up the sounds of the water, the birds singing, and absorbing the warm rays of the sun. Nature I love it wish I could live out in the woods. Finally Thomas woke up I made coffee and we chatted for a while. He cut up a dead tree that had fallen into the stream. He went fishing and I went to collect more wood for the fire. Even thought I have been fasting almost 3 days now I am feeling pretty good. Here is when I decided to walk to a secluded spot, got naked, put on my crystal headband to meditate but, I couldn't completely let go like I wanted to because of the sounds of cars and hoping no one would come walking back there! As I lay there I opened up my mind and thoughts to the spirit world. I experience a flooding of peace, love, and warmth in my heart the Spirit of God filling my being and soul! Visions of shadowy Angels appeared in my minds eye. What a touching experience with Creator and nature. After this I put on my tank top and bathing suit bottoms so, I could sit and allow the cool, rushing water to tantalize my skin. It was so refreshing that I hate the thought of going back to civilization again. My heart, soul, emotions, and body have been totally emerged into the elements of the Earth the past 3 days: fire from the pit, wind blowing strong at times, water rushing over my body, and the earth beneath my feet as I walked barefoot on the stones and dirt. It is Sunday evening and I prepared for Ceremony as I have these past few days. Sagging myself, I put a bunch of wood on the fire to cause it to blaze high into the dark night sky. Again I danced, sang, played the flute, and totally emerged my being into the elements around me. Forgetting where I was letting myself go and just BE!!!!!! After I was complete I sat watching the yellow, blue, flames dancing, and leaping hypnotizing my brain and thoughts. Free; freedom from all the worries, pains, and frustrations of life! I really didn't want to go back home at this point and time. Preparing for sleep I thought back on the day and was at peace! Day 3 was at an end!
