Present Interests

This page discusses some of my present short-term interests that are likely to fade into the past sooner or later.

Magic: The Gathering is a collectible trading card game involving magic and divisions of the types of magic according to specialties. I own around $250 in cards, and my most valuable card is worth around $70. I frequently build decks just for fun when I'm bored and have nothing better to do, although my decks generally do not work out well. Still, I enjoy noncompetitive play with my friends, and I somewhat enjoy tournament play weekly at Card Empire in Torrington, although I always do poorly in competition and the games are not as much fun as playing casually.

Right now I am entranced by my telephone. This is unusual for me, because I normally only spend huge amounts of time on games that I can play with my friends. But lately I've been spending at least 3 hours a day on the phone with Gin (Optimum Voice's free long distance is a GOOD thing!) and her friends (Optimum Voice's free 3-way-calling is also a good thing!). I've been calling her like this for the last few weeks, and it's fun, so I'm not planning on stopping this particular interest. (Not to mention I don't have to dish out money for this one! Haha, just kidding, Gin ;))
