This page of my site is about my long-term goals in life, and my long-term interests, such as what field(s) I want to go into after high school. Well, I've always been scientifically apt. I have always excelled in math and the sciences, no matter what the subject of the science course was. If my science class for one year was Earth science, then I learned everything there was to learn on geology and the way the Earth works; if my class were a chemistry class, I would study all the physical laws and properties of physics and chemicals. When it comes to science, I've always been able to adapt to pretty much any kind of subject matter. As a sophomore, I took two science classes: Anatomy and Physiology, and Zoology. I decided then that I was more interested in the life sciences than I was in the physical sciences, like I always thought I had been. But I also realized that I was most fascinated by the molecular level of biology. Then in my Junior year of high school, I took (am taking) 3 sciences: Chemistry A, Advanced Chemistry/Biotech, and Physics A. Since enrolling in chemistry, I realized that I really like chemistry almost as much as I do biological sciences, and since taking physics, I have realized that I do not like physics as much as I always thought I would. Thus, I have decided to change my life's field of interest from physics to biochemistry, combining my loves for both chemistry and the biological sciences. To study my desired fields, I originally hoped to go to college at MIT, but that was before I realized that I have no chance of being accepted there. So, now I hope to go to CalTech, Rochester Institute of Technology, or Worcester Polytech. I hope to eventually attain a PhD, and I may enroll in medical school if I decide to design my biochemistry studies as a pre-med program, which I can do. After college, depending on the final degree I get, I hope to either go into high-end medical research, using my skills in biochemistry, or go into medicine as a doctor. I hope to not live too near to Litchfield, hopefully at least slightly out-of-state, because I dislike Litchfield and Connecticut in general. I will probably stay in or near New England, but right now I am still unsure as to where I may end up. | ||||||
