Musical endeavors and adventures since my return to Vancouver have proven very fruitful. In March I said something to the effect of 'There isn't much going on in Chris Bauer's music lately...' -- or maybe that was the exact quotation. Anyway, that's not the case currently. I've written some really groovy songs the past few months, which differ in and explore many various styles. The songs as well as the other tunes I've been doing with the band are just sounding GREAT, and I'm really excited for our gig tomorrow night.
Speaking of which, it is, unfortunately, the only show I was able to secure for us this summer (though we are making an appearance at my former high school's 10th year celebration). But it is sure to be great. I wish everyone who enojys my music could hear it. I'm *hoping* to do some recording with the band before I leave town for the school year and get it released, but no promises.
So, the end of summer and the beginning of school are both fast approaching -- much sooner than I realised. I'm excited, but at the same time feel like I could do with more of a break...but I'll deal. Besides, I like school and Bellingham anyway.

On another topic, if you don't know who Steve Burns is, Wiki his name (and listen to his music too!), and then go here. Very entertaining read. It especially gets good about halfway down :)

And an update on what I'm listen to these days: Bob Dylan, The Band, George Harrison, OutKast (the new album has some great stuff on it), Nick Drake's second album, Sylvie Lewis, CSNY, Harry and the Potters, and I'm just starting to get into Ray LaMontagne -- among others. Good stuff.
Actually, if you want to keep up with what I'm listening to, and read a few music-related blogs here and there, you can check out my Last.fm profile. I highly recommend you get a profile yourself, as well. It's awesome.

Anyway, that's all. Take care.

Cheers,
Chris
