"If you turn to page 19..." Desiree was saying. Desiree was sitting behind a small desk, littered with papers. Shortly after the collapse of the Tower, they had journeyed for a few days into the unknown wilderness. They had come upon the Forest, where they were greeted by a small dragon who introduced himself as Keibi. After their small introduction stage, the dragon had taken them to a small cottage in the center of the Forest. At the cottage, they met a small dark girl named Desiree, who quickly invited them. She described the Forest's purpose to them. The Forest was a dragon Refuge, where all types of dragons came to live with their own kind. They were always bringing in new people to act as gaurdians, and they happened to walk through the door as Desiree began to look for more people to bring in. Desiree had offered them the oppurtunity to take care of a dragon, after passing a few tests that Desiree said proved trustworthiness and honesty. Insei turned to the page Desiree had indicated. Upon the page was a green dragon, smaller than some of the others she had already seen. He had no wings, but four sturdy legs that held up a proud stance. Below the picture was a brief history of the race, describing their different varieties. "That is Kashi, a Bishen dragon. He and his mate, Julliette, recently had a clutch. One of the eggs came to us. Your job will be to watch the egg, and take care of the dragon when it hatches. And I'm sure Kashi will be there to help you!" Desiree stood, and motioned for them to do the same. Insei set her cup down, and stood with the book still in her hands, still opened to the part about Bishen Dragons. "You can keep the books for now. Come, I'll show you where the egg is." Desiree opened the door and motioned for the two to follow her out. Insei and Ihen smiled to each other before following the short girl down the trail which she chose. The trail brought them back to the Clearing, where the small dragon Keibi was sleeping on a branch. Desiree stopped a moment, looking at the many trails that led further into the Forest. She quickly chose one, a newly made trail that lead haphazardly off. The three walked down it, listening the sounds of the Forest's day life. It was not long when the trail suddenly died off, leaving them in a small clearing. Trees all about them were thick and tall, blocking out all sunlight from coming through properly. The clearing was dominated by a large lake, one that was deep and spoke of hidden mysteries. At the opposite end of the clearing, they found the dragon Kashi sitting next to a small nest. "Insei, Ihen, this is Kashi. Kashi, these are the gaurdians for your egg," Desiree said as she scratched the green dragon on his head. Kashi nodded and motioned to the nest. Insei looked inside, and found herself looking at a small spotted egg. "Well, I better go," Desiree began. "Before it becomes too dark." "Wait a moment... It's morning!" Ihen and Insei stared at Desiree as if she had lost it. "This place is enchanted, she said with a wave of her hand. "Sunlight only shines down her once an hour. When the sun leaves this area, the moonlight shines down upon the water, creating a surreal glow to the clearing. We are hoping that the excessive moonlight might affect the Bishen's growth in some way." Desiree waved her hand, and using the trail headed back to the Forest. Already the sky was darkening, and at an incredible speed. Insei looked into the sky, and watched as the stars slowly came into view in the night sky. And the moon could now be seen in the Northern sky. They waited for a few more minutes, watching as more and more stars came into view. And soon there was no more sunlight, but great rays of moonlight filtered into the clearing. Now the clearing was filled with moonlight, a soft luminenscent glow lighting everything in view. The water now looked like quicksilver, reflecting the thick moonlight that was now encompassing everything.
