Upon Denny's retirement they were presented woth a gift of a cruise. He and Ruby flew to Miami where they boarded a cruise ship to Freeport & Nassau in the Bahamas.

JUNE 24, 1933 - JULY 22, 2008 Betsy Lois Wilburn Bradley of Raleigh died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family after a battle with liver cancer. Betsy was born in Harnett County, NC, to the late Frank Philip Wilburn and Annie Way Satterwhite Wilburn. She had a happy childhood reared on a farm as the eighth of twelve children in Harnett County. After moving to Raleigh in 1953, Betsy worked for the Employment Security Commission. Betsy later retired with the North Carolina Department of Insurance after more than 30 years of service to the State of North Carolina. Betsy devoted herself to the State Employees Association after retirement and became a staunch advocate for all state employees. Betsy loved life and her family. She bravely fought and successfully defeated breast cancer in 2001. She was a spring of fun and laughter for scores of friends and family throughout her life. Preceded in death by eight of her siblings Philip, Eleanor Galloway, L.M., Pat, Thelma Young Galloway, Richard, Craig and Doug, Betsy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Earle L. Bradley, Jr.; three daughters, Lisa Bradley of Baldwinsville, NY, Vickie and JC Tysinger of Swansboro and Tanji Bradley of Raleigh; three grandchildren; one great-grandson. She is also survived by a sister, Lillian Angel of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Fred Wilburn and Jerry Wilburn both of Raleigh; two sisters-in-law and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, all of whom she loved dearly and with whom she was very close. On Thursday, July 24th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. the family will receive friends and family at Ridge Road Baptist Church. A funeral service to celebrate Betsy's life will be held at Ridge Road Baptist Church on Friday, July 25th at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at Montlawn Memorial Park.
