Introduction:

Far away there glows a tiny light, spiraling upon a twirling nebula. This small sparkle of blue twinkles lightly, reflecting the rays of a distant, dying sun. Gases of the space and particles of dust and molten rock rotate about it, as this shard of life and hope floats there.

The tiny, shattered remain of a single entity lifts the energy levels here, glowing and fading as it struggles to seek out it’s seven other parts, using the remaining powers within to call out to it’s brethren, Light and Dark, opposing factors of life and death, strong and weak, good and evil.

A small voice comes out of it, echoing for light years, as the other seven parts reply the same voice in unison.

            “Hope is lost…”

A bright, wonderful day on Namek rises again from the corners of the sky as the twin suns of that sector are allowed to take command from the twilight that the planet’s residents refer to as night.

Darien looks up from his spot of morning seclusion, nearby a small pond, his five pupils, five of the strongest warriors on the planet, all stirring from the revitalizing warmth of the sun’s rays.

The one-time Z-fighter blinks and narrows his eyes as he senses something… odd. He can’t really explain the oddity of this weird, new feeling, and instead of bothering his students, nods to one of them and lifts into the air.

The morning breeze filters through his cape and purple gi, his antennae rippling behind his head as the suns appear to rise slower than usual. Between them, where no normal eyes can look due to the blinding light, appears a tiny glint. Not exactly a glint as if one were to think of a star, more like if one were referring to a piece of metal, reflecting the light just right.

“The hell? It’s getting closer…” he mutters, flaring his white ki and stopping in the air there, tilting his head in curiosity.

The small, silver glint appears to move closer to him, somehow.

“Company expected around here? We haven’t had too many ships in awhile.” He bites his lip curiously, looking at the approaching vessel, unable to determine the shape or anything else.

Time suddenly slows as Darien realizes he senses no sign of life on the approaching vessel. This is not the only reason why things move slowly. He powers up but stops when he feels deep down in his heart a disturbance from his planet, from deep in space.

“Hope is lost…” echoes the voice.

Darien turns his head to the sky and then realizes what this means, all too late. A sudden epiphany as his head moves slowly, slowly, towards the moving glint in the distance.

            The air stops moving.

Darien looks down at his chest, purple blood flowing from the hole in his heart.

Then back up at the glint he looks, though it is gone now, replaced by a massive vessel, bulging and fat like a whale, nearly a mile long, like a huge arrowhead.

It slows down from its tremendous speed, hovering in the air there, massive quakes shattering the ground as this monstrosity just sits there like a terrible omen, blotting the sky for miles below thanks to the perfect alignment before the sun.

Before it floats a strange, silver being, strong and big muscled, perfectly smooth skinned, as if a muscle building human had been drenched in liquid silver. He grins, red eyes glowing. Four smaller, slim beings float behind him, arms folded.

Darien senses nothing from them. Nothing at all.

The namekian looks down at the hole in his chest. The seeping blood.

“On behalf of 5, I claim this planet.” The being states, a serious, business manner on his face as if he were on his way to the office for a days work.

Darien doesn’t appear to listen though, as he turns to regard a small, white bird flying in the distance. His eyes focus partly on it, as he feels his life slipping.

            “Hope is lost…”

Darien opens his mouth a little, in a hole, looking in disbelief as he realizes this meaning.

The namekian falls to the earth. He is vaporized before he even hits.

Information:

From the depths of space has come a terrible threat to all living things. 5 has survived, and brings with him forces never before believable, and only a small fraction of his Android army’s true might at that. Our galaxy is all that stands between him and total control. What of the legendary Scepters of Light, Dark, and Hope? Two have vanished after terrible run-ins amongst our heroes, and the third, the binding spirit force, has been shattered into many pieces. Namek falls early, before any word travels out, in a horrible cataclysm leaving none of the natives alive, the dragon balls of the planet destroyed, and a new base of operations for the new threat. Or is the threat really new? How long has 5 been plotting not only this simple revenge, but also the conquest of all reality? Only time…
