Spooky Foods
Ingredients:
1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large pkg of vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared
1 large pkg vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls
1 new kitty litter pan
1 new pooper scooper
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions on the box.
Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.
Crumble vanilla sandwich cookies into food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining cookie crumbs and chilled pudding. Mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don�t want it too soggy. Combine gently.
Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs on top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything �this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.
Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!
Eye Balls in Blood
Ingredients:
Mozzarella Cheese
Black Olives, Sliced (circular)
red food coloring
1 Jar of Marinara Sauce
Melon Baller
Toothpick
Platter
Use melon baller to make as many �eyeballs� as possible from chunk of mozzarella cheese.
Spread thin pool of marinara �blood� sauce out on platter.
Place mozzarella ball in blood.
Put olive �pupil� in middle of eye.
Streak red blood shot lines down eyeball.
Serve as appetizers.
Spiders
Ingredients:
16 oz. powdered sugar (icing sugar)
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
Black paste food coloring
Prepare royal icing with above ingredients. Beat until peaks firmly hold their shape.
Let set overnight to get a rich, dark black.
Pipe spiders with pastry bag on wax paper.
Let air dry until hard and crispy.
Witches� Fingers
Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 2/3 cup of flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup almonds, blanched and halved
red food coloring
small amount of red frosting or decorator gel
In bowl, cream butter, sugar, egg, and extracts.
Add flour, baking soda and salt.
Cover and chill for 30 minutes.
Roll out finger shaped cookies. Put on greased cookie sheet.
Press almond on top of finger as nail.
Use knife to score finger, to create knuckles.
Bake in 325F oven for 20 � 25 minutes.
Let cool 3 minutes.
Gently �glue� nail down with red icing.
Optional: Paint red food coloring on nail.
