This is a view looking into the rear of the vent room (one of my favorites) through the vent room, and out the front of the portal at the old alignment. You can see the existing PA Turnpike in the distance (there is a spot of orange, a tractor-trailor that is traveling the 'pike). Of particular interest, for those who were wondering about the lettering which once spelled out the tunnels name, You can see the brackets for the now-missing lettering in the middle glass area. The brackets are in fine shape, and there is no sign of the letters being torn out or falling out. In short, someone climbed up there and removed the tunnel name at some point in time.
