A note to the newcomers

Hi there, really nice for you to step into my eHome. Right now, there aren't many items yet. Please understand. I've just moved in.

Glad to have an eFriend like you to come and visit me. And I've got so much to share with you.

A couple of years ago, I have started writing short emails or essays inspired by the different countries I have been to. I write poems too. Most of my friends found them very interesting and much encouragement was received back then. Some of my friends urged me to post my work into the web but I have resisted the idea for quite a long time. Till today, I still feel kind of uncomfortable about the idea of surfers wandering in and out of my home without me realising it!

Don't get me wrong, you are most welcome here. Feel free to browse my precious work in my study room and I am hoping that you could drop in a few friendly messages to me via email. It is a whole new experience to me and I hope to get as much fun out of this as you do.

Inspiration comes from many sources. It could be the new country I have been to, a familiar place, the people I've chatted with or the strangers that I've just met. You could be my inspiration too! If you wish to share you stories with me, just drop me a note.

Nice to meet you and happy browsing!

A note to the "old-timers"

Yo Buddies,

Okay, it's been a real long time since we "interact". Still remember the concept of WWWIS (World Wide Wilf Interactive System) was formed back in November 96. Since then, all my good friends were constantly bombarded by my irregular messages. Some found it a good read, some found it very imaginative and some found it a bit disturbing. A lot of encouragement and support back then. And of course, not to forget to mention those who were concerned about my then mental stability too. Yes, I remember you all and guess what, I still have all your replies.

So, you must have a list of burning questions you would like to ask. Since I am still new to this concept on "web" whereby you "visit" me while I am not around and I anticipate what you would "ask" before you have even stepped in. Trust me, I have sleepless nights over this concept for a long while and here is what I think. Once anybody (including me!) steps into this eHome of mine, the time and space do no longer conincide with the time and space in reality.

Well then, your reply, however short it is, is most welcome. We all live in a very busy world, no? I understand. Here are a list of questions (FAQ) that I have thought of and feel free to add more by emailing your burning questions to me. Now, don't ask me why my Yahoo! account is in UK. Apparently, at the time I registered, Yahoo! thought that Singapore is somewhere in UK.

Hope to hear from you real soon.

Q: Why setting up this eHome of yours after all this while?

A: I have to admit that some of my friends have been asking me the possibility of getting myself online. Well, I am kind of reluctant all this while because I still find this concept a bit weird to accept. Besides, I know nuts about HTML and web design and so on. (Hey, there is a fine line between work and personal life, no?)

But I have to confess that I wanted my web presence to be as cool as possible. Then again, since I know nuts about web page development, I am hoping that the content of my web page will make up for it. After all, we all have to start somewhere. Agree?

Q: Why haven't we heard from you for 2 years?

A: Well, courting the woman of my dream seems to have taken most, if not all of my energy and creativity. Besides, I was, and still am, busy setting up my physical home in Singapore.

Does that answer your question?

Q: Have you run out of creativity lately?

A: Hardly run out literally. I agree that one has to channel to one's creativity in order to get some decent materials out of our brain. And it is like exercise, you've got to flex your muscle once in a while. Whenever I tap into my pool of creativity, I seems to be able to get some raw ideas out. Now that I have a Palm, I always write down some random thoughts during the day. I just need some polishing on those raw ideas of mine.

Q: How have you been?

A: Still the same old me in a way but lots has changed. I am now a Catholic and my old habits are gone. A new Singaporean and getting married very soon.

I am indeed a very happy man!

My Study Room

Short Stories

I have selected a few of my favourite stories to share with you. These are the ones that have gained wide popularity. Hope you enjoy.

My Short Stories Collection

My Poems

I have included some of the work I have done during my trip to Paris. Some found the pieces too dark. Some found them beautiful. But most importantly, what do you think?

My Paris Collection

Random Thoughts

I have gone through my library and found that I have collected quite a long list of random thoughts over the years. Coming out with a list of my favourite ones is not easy but I guess those that are a bit extreme, I can safely leave them out. Why "milk" and "cheese"? Well, one is more mature then the other, ya?

The Age of Cheese
The Age of Milk (Part II)
The Age of Milk (Part I)

Gems Collected

Here are some gems I have picked up so far.

About Me

I am a very ordinary kind of guys. Probably you won't even be able to spot me on a crowded street. All of us try to be ordinary in so many ways, yet at the same time, try to be unique amongst others. Besides the usual interests that half of this world's population are shared in common, I have the following, I believe, not so common interests.

Try not to ask me what they mean. I seldom understand what I mean either. Therefore, I am still in this observation, study, analysis, appreciation and pondering stage. That's what make us human, no?

The observation of the least observed things in life
The study of human behaviour
The appreciation of nature's beauty
The analysis of timing of events in our day-to-day life
The study of the interaction of human beings
The pondering of the mystery of the Universal
