Biography

Born in Iowa , Ellen was raised in California from 2 years old. She received her BA in Literature from Pitzer College in 1981, MA in Education and Multi-Subject Teaching Credential from Claremont Graduate University in California in 1983. Ellen has taught at Elementary schools in California , London , Barcelona and Sitges. In addition, she also taught English for the North American Institute in Barcelona . |

During 5 years of living in London , she met her Sufi teacher, Irina Tweedie. After London , Ellen moved to Barcelona and began facilitating a meditation group. Later, she returned to California for 5 years before settling down in Sitges (near Barcelona) in 2001.
Since
2005 Ellen has studied and practiced the healing art of Sat Nam Rasayan.
She received her first level certificate as a healer in 2006 and
continues to study with healer Ambrosio Espinosa, MD and the Master of
Sat Nam Rasayan, Guru Dev Singh (authors of the book The Art of Healing:
Sat Nam Rasayan.) |
| Ellen has been practicing yoga since 1983 and was awarded her first level teaching certificate from the International Association of Kundalini Yoga. She teaches yoga to adults and children as well as classes for children with their parents. In addition to traditional yoga classes, Ellen teaches "English in Movement" a course she designed especially for students from 4 to 8 years old. The children learn English through yoga, song, games and dance. |

Ellen began her exploration of Middle Eastern dance in 1991 inspired by creative desire and to connect with this source of ancient feminine energy.
She has studied with master teachers from all over the world and in 1996 started teaching belly dance in California and later her adopted home, Spain . Inspiring women and girls to get in touch with and gain a deeper understanding of their breath, bodies, creativity and sense of rhythm through dance is very gratifying for Ellen. She has presented several student shows and performs on her own. |
| Ellens interest in ceramics was born in the early '80's. She was inspired by the colorful, multicultural influence of London in stark contrast to the grey skies of her new home. Her work has been exhibited in London , the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas and Barcelona . Each of her ceramic works is unique, infused with the healing energies of love and mantra and her pieces transmit this loving and protective energy. |
