| Numerology has been around for a long time. Some experts date its beginnings to the creation of the first alphabet, others to the ancient Hindu culture. Certainly every civilization that constructed an alphabet or a written language might well have contributed to the evolution of numerology, but it is the history of written numbers that is most important. Unquestionably, numerologys hero is the ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, who established his school in about 632 B.C. Here he proclaimed his mathematical theories while training his students in astronomy, music, mathematics, philosophy, and numerology. Pythagoras originated the Science of Numbers, his belief that numbers offer the key to understanding everything in the universe; and he established the system of tying the symbolism of each of the numbers 1 through 9 to a particular phase of the life experience. Thus the number 1 became linked to the idea of origin or God, 2 to marriage or companions, 3 to trinity or wisdom, 4 to solidity, and so forth. Pythagorean doctrine was based on the idea that the entire universe vibrates at a specific rate and that each individual has a personal vibration rate as well. How the personal rate relates to the universal rate accounts for the differences among people. Of all the predictive arts, numerology probably is the most accessible to the layperson and the easiest to try on a rudimentary level. All you need is pen and paper, an elementary knowledge of arithmetic, and your date of birth and given name. |

| To calculate your Birth Force Number, also known as the life lesson number follow this formula. If your birth-date is January 7, 1944 you write it like this: 01071944 then add the digits: 0+1+0+7+1+9+4+4=26 then add 2+6=8 you would now write your birth force number as 26/8 (The number is always written this way so that the compound number can also be considered.) Next you look up the number 8 to read the description of the positive and negative traits that correspond to your number. You could further interpret that 8 by looking up the digits of the compound number, 26 (2 + 6) to see the path by which you arrived at that 8. Keep in mind that the descriptions of the qualities of the numbers I have given here are merely brief overall interpretations. |
