Eating at a rest area in Georgia, along Interstate 95, on the way to Charleston. We are enjoying a basket of foods from our reception. We did not have an opportunity to enjoy them at our reception.
The Anchorage Inn in Charleston, room 9.
Twyla in our hotel room just after our arrival, approximately 11PM. We chose this room because of the four-poster canopy bed with tapestried hangings.
Twyla in our hotel. The hotel decor reflects a 17th century English Coaching Inn.

The Anchorage Inn is located on Vendue Range in Charleston's historic district, near Waterfront Park.
Twyla in front of our hotel. The window to our room is in the upper left corner.
Dean in Waterfront Park, Charleston. The pineapple is a colonial symbol meaning "Welcome".

On a carriage tour of Charleston.
Entering Boone Hall, a Southern plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Sweetgrass baskets at Boone Hall. These are hand-crafted baskets made by the decendants of slaves. It is considered a dying art. We purchased a ring holder basket.
The Battery in Charleston. The homes are part of the famous Rainbow Row in the historic downtown district. 1860's residents watched the beginnings of the War for Southern Independence at Fort Sumter across the harbor from these homes.
