Summary of Interests:
I am a high school and middle school teacher. I teach at a small charter school, mainly math, but also a little bit of everything.
I work at high school sporting events. I am a track and field official, specializing in pole vault and high jump, and work on the chain crew at football games.
For most of my life, I played trombone and euphonium. Recently, I have been playing flute, and some Irish whistle. I have played semi-professionally in various musical groups and musical productions. My favorite places to play have been in the musical productions of Fiddler on the Roof, The Music Man, and South Pacific, and in the lounge car of an Amtrak train. I play different styles of music, including classical, folk, and jazz. Each December, I march in the Fiesta Bowl Parade. Twyla is also a musician. She sings Southern gospel and plays French horn.
I enjoy canoeing and particulary enjoy taking my canoe on Tempe Town Lake at night. I also reenact as a Confederate infantryman in the 5th Texas Infantry, Company D.
