In fact, you may purposely think about them while you're bored. Stop it. When you start thinking about them, immediately switch gears. The sooner you quit thinking about them, the sooner you'll forget about them. � Don't see them Don't look at them. Don't go to their house. Don't go have coffee with them. Do anything and everything to avoid looking at them. � Don't talk to them Don't phone them. Don't e-mail them. Don't instant message them. In fact, add them to your ignore list ASAP. You don't want them trying to contact you either. If they call you, don't be polite - hang up the phone immediately. Out of site, out of mind, so to speak. � Get out Go to the mall. Get another job. Go take a walk in the park. Start chatting up another member of the opposite sex. Even if it is the 'rebound' effect, it's a damn good effect - it gets your mind on something else. � Don't sulk Don't pity yourself. Don't think about how you fucked up, or what a disgrace you are. Remember that if they were too stupid to realize what a gem you are, then they aren't worth your trouble. It may be hard to admit, but if they were as great as you thought, then they would have appreciated you. � Plenty of fish in the sea Remember that there is about 5.7 billion people on this planet. The ratio between male and female is about half (2.85 billion of each) and 1/8 of them are in your age group (356 million). About half of them are taken, so that leaves you with 178 million other options. Do you really think this person was the best out of those 178 million others? |
