So-Sara is a land of many mixed cultures. Many of the So'saranin claim to be descendants of the Khaz Modanian Empire, that once stretched across a full quarter of Micras. But the influx of many races following the Xul'Sara Exodus and the settlement of elements of the ancient Burning Blade Clan saw the population expand into its present mixture of peoples. But by far the largest population to settle in So-Sara were the Elves, of whom a great majority came from Elwynn after it was purged of their race by the tyrant Baron Khan. Over the years though, elves and humans have mixed, with the occasional other races maintaining the minorities. Thus the So'saranin of today are a unique culture distinct of the Isles of Khaz Modan, sharing the heritage of both elf and human. Traditions have changed somewhat, merging the two cultures into a hybrid of sorts. The Dragon Knights, for instance, utilise the warrior attributes of human swordsmen and the kinship of elves to dragons in order to form the county's strong fighting unit. |

| So'saranin maintain their elven kinship with nature as well. And altough great cities of stone castles such as Sara-Nyl rear their heads proudly, one has but walk to the centre of the city to find the ancient grove of oak trees where Druids pray for the protection of Mother Nature in ancient Quenya. Numerous villages dot the mountainous landscape, making their homes amid the rocks and trees in quaint houses of wood and brick. So'saranin are a proud people, most likely a trait inherited from the Khaz Modanians, and light practioners of the majiks. The School of Majez, located in the foothills of the Nine Peaks south of Sara-Nyl is trying to relearn the lost techniques of the ancient mages. Of minorities, So-Sara has many; myconids, orcs, trolls, gryphons, dragons, ogres, and many others. Indeed, So'saranin culture is divided into so many categories and the histories of past and present people that this text can only offer a glimmer of its surface. We hope though that this little information has given you, the reader, a better understanding of who and what we are. | ||
