Letters to the Staff

Dear Staff,
                I have just finished reading Guardians #1 and I just have to say it sounds a lot like the Ultimate X-Men Series that is presently out.
                Is this a coinsidence or did you mean to rip off my favorite comic book?

Letters To The Staff

Kevin,
We didn't intentially rip off any comic book. We have had this story line in the works for a good many months before we knew of what was happening in Ultimate X-Men. And it'll still seem like we're ripping them off until the end of Guardians #3, so please bare with us until that point.

Staff,
I have only visited this site once, but I like what I saw, the Guardians seem like a neat team, I really like the Gorgons, but I have a few questions conserning the series. 1) What are Medusa's powers? 2) Are you going into their pasts like you are the Guardians? 3) Are they the only villians you're going to have? 4) How is Renegade perfect? And finally 5) Where did you come up with the names Isis, Medusa, Discord and the Gorgons?

Jen,
Well, where to start? 1) The staff are still in the process of making a final decision as to Medusa's powers but at this exact moment she has the power of levatation which she can also use as a shield, and when you look at her directly in the eyes she can send a sort of signal to your nervous system and send you into seasures. 2) Right now Eliza is focusing on the present mini series she's working on and has given no thought to future ones and Randi... well she has been avoiding the question so I'd say unless John has time (which with his current projects, writing upcoming Guardian Files #3 and writing Guardians #4) you won't be seeing the Gorgon's mini series for some time. 3) The only villians? No way. Another villian is being intoduced within the very near future although not formally until issue #6 plus another long term villian team will come into action further down the road. And in between there will be a number of minor villians and such. 4) Renegade is perfect because he was created with that intent in mind. I asked Randi (she devolped the idea of Renegade) and she said that Renegade was created in a lab, and was pieced together from the DNA of the best of everything to make him well perfect. And to ensure his perfection Renegade was kept in an incubation state for fifteen years where he was in a sence programed everything he knows as well as conditioned to be constantly at peek human abilities in the ways of reflexes, strength, agility and such. Being a mutant came from some of the DNA that he inherited. 5) All those names that you mentioned and a few yet to come comes from mythology. All but Isis comes from Greek mythology while Isis is taken from Egyptian mythology (the people I work with namely Eliza and Randi are obsessed with it).
