i am adam smith.

this is my website.

i enjoy reading and riting and 'rithmatic.

my favourite type of writing is surrealist [non]fiction. my favourite type of reading is modernist, like t.s. eliot or james joyce. my favourite type of 'rithmatic is analytic, like analytical geometry or analysis like calculus.

i enjoy computer programming. my favourite programming languages are python and java, depending on what i'm writing. i also know lots of others, like c and c++ and basic and pascal and 6502 asm and z80 asm and even a few others. but i don't like those all that much.

i enjoy thinking. my favourite type of thinking is thoughtful.

i enjoy lots of things.

i listen to music! i like lots of different kinds of music! indie rock mostly, though. but electronica (idm) sometimes too, and even sometimes pop and emo and whatever. but mostly indie rock~~~

i like to be obnoxious and pretentious. i don't really mean it, though. sorry (._.)

my cpu is an amd athlon x2 4200+. according to my cpuinfo, each core runs at 2189.273mhz, has 512kb of cache, and has a rating of approximately 4380 bogomips. i've got a gig of ram and my video card is an ati radeon x300 which is actually kind of terrible, and i'm going to upgrade it asap.

i run arch linux with a gnome desktop as my primary os, but i also dualboot to windows vista beta 2. except i don't, usually. because i don't really need windows. when i surf the internet, i use firefox on linux and internet explorer 7 on windows. when i listen to music, i use banshee on linux and windows media player 11 on windows and a 20gb ipod named todd on walks. when i program, i use eclipse for java and idle or sometimes gedit for python. i suppose i'll be using dr. scheme for scheme, cause that's what waterloo likes, but i prefer chez scheme.

speaking of which i just finished high school at richmond hill high school. it sucked. in the fall i'm going to the university of waterloo to study computer science. i hope it doesn't suck.
