New Recordings Now Online! I spent a long day in the studio over winter vacation, and have six new tracks recorded. The quality is infinitely better than on "Against the Blinking Green." The recordings were done at Caveman Music studios in Brighton, and are all available for free download by clicking here.
Short Tour With Pete Cassani Coming Soon Pete is a great musician, best known for his work with the Boston rock legends, The Peasants. He and I will be playing a few shows together as he tours through Pennsylvania. Check out the upcoming shows page for more info!
03-15-04, Quick tour of the Southwest Now Over I just got back from ten days in Santa Fe, NM and Tuscon, AZ. Street performing, busking, and playing minor gigs at Cafe Zele, Upper Crust, The Plaza, and the White Stallion Ranch opening for Kevin Bowman a great AZ singer, songwriter, poet and guitarist. We swapped a few songs and I learned a few good covers that I'll be playing at my upcoming shows in Philadelphia.
Anti-Capitalist Concert with ERIK PETERSEN I'm really excited about this concert. Erik Petersen is a great Philly musician and radical folk-punk artist, well known in the area. He and I will be performing at Rittenhouse Square (Philadelphia), at 11:00am on March 20th. This concert will kick off the anti-capitalist contingent's march to the main actions on Saturday. Info on the upcoming shows page.
SONGS OF SOLIDARITY SOON TO BE RELEASED ON CD! The process has been long and tiring. The album art has taken the longest to get together, since everyone has been so busy lately and I have absolutely no visual art talents whatsoever. However, sometime soon, hopefully before the April 8th gig, Songs of Solidarity will be finally released on CD. The songs are currently available for free download here.
APRIL UPDATE, 04-05-04 The life of a solo singer/songwriter can at times be musically lonely. Fortunately, though, I have gained some company. I have begun singing and writing with Sally O'Brien (pictured at right), a banjo-playing wobbly-loving singer from Connecticut. Sally brings harmony to my own songs as well as songs of her own and a great repertoire of traditional folk songs that she has "folk-processed," Pete Seeger style. Your first chance to catch Sally and I performing together will be this Friday at the Benefit Concert for the A-Space. A-Space is an integral part of the Philadelphia activist community. It provides the home for Books Through Bars and an open meeting space where people can come together to plan acts of creativity and resistance. The space also brings in a steady stream of speakers, films, and art to the West Philly area. Unfortunately, A-Space is getting behind on their rent, so we're throwing them a big ol' benefit concert! 10pm on Friday, April 9th @ Fiume Bar, 45th and Locust St, Philadelphia with Darren "Deicide" Kramer + Pete Cassani

A-Space Benefit a Success! + D.C. Shows If you weren't at Fiume on April 13th, you should have been! Sally and I played our best show yet, and Darren Deicide Kramer and Pete Cassani rocked Fiume as hard as it should be. No word yet on exactly how much money was raised for the A-Space. Somewhere around $160 towards their rent! Be sure to check the gigs page for info about Sally and my's upcoming concerts with David Rovics in D.C. at the anti-WorldBank and Pro-Choice protests.

Decisions... Decisions... After long deliberation, I have decided to release "Songs of Solidarity" not as a full album but as a demo. My new musical relationship with Sally O'Brian (see below) has produced some excellent new material that we hope to record this summer at Caveman Music Studios, in Brighton MA. The full length album will include the six tracks from Songs of Solidarity, as well as six to eight additional tracks, including a lot of completely new material. (Sally and I have a new 'rock anthem' entitled On The Road Again: A Study of the Socio-Religio-Political Patterns of Othering in Postmodern Academia... well, i guess you have to hear it.) Also, I am trying to break my e-mail list down by region. This is proving to be extremely frustrating. If you would like to be on my e-mail list, please contact me with your e-mail and home state. I will keep you updated on gigs, cds, etc.
[breaking news]Touring this Summer!! Just decided: I will be touring this summer around the U.S. If you want me in your hometown, organize a gig for me! (e-mail me with ideas.) [email protected] ALSO: Cathy Miller, a photographer from The Aquarian got some great shots of Sally and I at our gig at The Sanctuary in Stroudsburg PA. You can check the photos out on the Pictures Page.
Interview on UrbanAddiction.com I was interviewed about my upcoming tour and CD release yesterday by Liz Fine, the magnificent webmistress of UrbanAddiction, an arts, politics and culture blog that focuses mainly on happenings in the Philadelphia area. The interview was a lot of fun, and you can read the whole thing here. My favorite quote from the interview: "Folk is angry music. Make no mistake about it. But its playful angry. Creative angry. Thats the most dangerous kind of angry."Y
Tour Journal Up and Running I started a blog where I will be writing about my experiences touring the east this summer. This will be especially important for: a) people who are obsessed with me b) people with nothing better to do c) the FBI
