More narration continues a longer transition. I don't like jumping more than a few hours, usually, but it was really unavoidable without forcing the character interactions way too much. The narration also allowed me to wake-up ideas that Cirus is a spy, and may be acting on an agenda after all. The 'pre-party' at Misato's apartment is actually one of my favorite sequences in the whole story by itself. Near the start, Shinji's comment about 'slutty' or 'trampy' is, I think in hindsight, a bit much. I may change it in future, but I'll keep with my promise to not alter too much of the story for now. Of course, the reason I love this sequence so much is Ayanami-sama. One word: sneeze. I...was...a...puddle...of...joy writing that little description. Rei sneezing is the cutest thing ever. And then blushing, and adorably awkward, actually getting a little flustered over Cirus this time... KAWAII! Since, in the series, we never see Ayanami-sama dressed up, I went all the way. Full dress, make-up, earings... so beautiful. The fact that the dress is red would annoy many hard-core fans, so I just chalked it up to Misato's ineptitude at knowing Rei's color preference. And... Rei's dislike of blood itself is fading more and more. Embarrassed Ayanami-sama... priceless. She's just so adorable. I very much enjoyed using Shinji and Kaji's reactions to make not just Asuka but even Misato get a little jealous. *evil grin* Now, Rei asking if Kaji liked the look is a bit of a stretch, I admit. I intended it as it comes off, yes, but there is also the element of trying to do what she knows others would in her position. Awkward, in a totally alien situation, she's very appreciative of positive support. And... of course, Cirus is floored. An embarrassed Ayanami-sama only makes the flooring more complete (think 'basementing') And the smile... *sighs pleasantly* Such a lovely scene. And the section and part end with everyone heading off for the club.
