MALTA SONG FOR EUROPE 2002 IRA LOSCO BIOGRAPHY 7TH WONDER LYRICS PICTURE ALBUM DOWNLOADS
Ira Losco left all of Malta and most of Europe Spellbound by her interpretation of 7th Wonder in Tallinn Estonia during the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest. Malta was just One Step Away from victory and was in the leading position throughout most of the voting session which at the end gave Malta a 2nd place victory. Malta was living a celebration as the Eurovision Result was over. Maltese people though disappointed for not winning still were in a mood of celebration and some celebrations could also be heard in the streets...some cars flying Maltese flags in the main towns. The greatest surprise for Ira was when she arrived back in Malta from Tallinn. Great crowds started gathering at the Malta International Airport and the surrounding streets as well as in the town of Sliema, where Ira resides. On her arrival at the Malta International Airport at 16.04 from Tallinn, Ira was greeted by thousands of Maltese who flocked at the airport to welcome their HERO. The result achieved by Ira was the best ever for Malta after twice placing 3rd with Chiara(1998) and Mary Spiteri (1993). However Malta this year was closer than ever to win the Eurovision, holding tight to Latvia until the final voting of Lithuania, who eventually gave their 12 points to who else, but their next-door neighbours Latvia? A great satisfaction and a hint of diasppointment at the same time, provoked an incredibly warm atmosphere today at the Airport. As soon as the aeroplane landed, Ira was mobbed by journalists and TV presenters, all eager to get a glimpse of their national idol. Soon after, a press conference of around a quarter of an hour followed, being broadcasted live on all leading TV Stationas in Malta. Here Ira thanked Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg (composer and writer of 7th Wonder) for trusting her, along with all the members of the Maltese Committee, including Charlo Bonnici. She also thanked all the Maltese for their constant support, "Without their support, I can't move on. I will always keep my feet on the ground like I've always promised!" Highly moved, Ira also declaired, "I've always believed in myself, although Malta is a very Ira, you sure had a massive performance, but what exactly did you feel on stage? Obviously I was quite excited of singing in front of such a great audience. However during my rehersals I always had to sing in front of a great audience, so that helped in a way. My major aim was to go on stage and have fun. There was such a great atmosphere, and the audience was always waving their flags and cheering, that even if you're not the contestant of their own country, they still support you. therefore I was excited, but I tried to remain as calm as possible and eventually, I really had fun!

small country." These are a few questions Ira had to tackle during her press conference: Will you today still remain the same Ira as you were before the contest? When we were in Estonia, many other singers, since they were quite popular had a sort of a star treatment. But these things are just not for me...I've always benn a friendly person, who speaks to everybody. The result we obtained was for the benefit of Malta, not for my own. Then again if this turns out to be a stepping stone for my future, I'm more than willing to take this opportunity"
