Beefy's mad dash around London - all in a day (continued)

10.20 a.m. Horse Guard's Parade and Guards sweating like crazy in uniform. The temperature reached 32°C that day.

10.30 a.m. Admiralty Arch and that great British pastime, dodging the traffic bollards - first visit to Trafalgar Square (not shown).

10.40 a.m. Head for Buckingham Palace for Changing of the Guard. The two toys position themselves on the fountain in front, but the view is blocked by what must be over a thousand tourists. The Royal Family is still hugely popular in Britain, but mainly with the tourists. Do the Brits keep them because they love them or because (to pinch a London phrase) they're a nice little earner? Depends who you ask, but for reference, both toys are weakly republican in they're ideals, even though they're British. But if the royals are bringing in money, leave them be, because money means jobs for ordinary people.

11.30 a.m. Leave Buckingham Palace to Head for Hyde Park Corner. Beginning of two hour walk. They spot that the side fence is clear of tourists, giving a great view of the changing of the guard, but it's time to move on.
