Pope
The head of a church. They are usually the wisest, oldest, and most powerful of tha Amuni. Popes adorn themselves in tall, white hats, which sport a gold cross between the top point and the brim. It is rare to see a pope who does not also where a cross around his neck. Popes are most commonly male, but females do, on occassion, occur. There can only be one pope per church.
Cardinal
The second in command of a church. Cardinals are usually quite intelligent and powerful. They are most often hand picked by their pope, or bishops who have proved themselves worthy of the rank. If the pope of their church dies, the cardinals will hold a vote between them, to decide on the new pope. Cardinals always wear some sort of red accessorie. There can be up to 10 cardinals in a church.
Bishop
Bishops are third in command, often taking on the duty of promoting missionaries, priests, and followers. While cardinals and popes concern themselves with higher matters, bishops usually take care of organization and more selective problems within their churches. They, like popes, where hats, but Bishop hats are solid white or gold, without the cross. There can be up to 4 bishops in a church.
Priest
Priests are the most 'social' rank, of the higher four. They are often the most empathic and kind...though this is not the same for every individual. Priests take care of more humble matters within the church, 'baptising' new members into the group, taking confessions, holding ceremonies...quite the busy little Amuni they are! There can be up to 5 priests in a church. Priests are the only Amuni with the natural ability to shapeshift into human form.
Missionary
Missionaries are something of the "Marionettes" of the Amuni. 'cept they weren't made for breeding purposes. Missionaries are those who leave their churches in attempt to convert others. They have many different methods of convertion, whether it be kindness and teaching, treachery and deciet, or good old fashion seduction or tyrany. There can be up to 3 missionaries in a church.
Follower
Followers are those who don't really have any sort of rank or purpose, they are just part of the church. The subordinates or 'omegas' if you will. They do help out when they can, but their main purpose is just to up the numbers of a church. There can be unlimited followers in a church.
Diety
Diety are the highest rank, but do not join or lead churches. They are the most powerful Amuni, and dieties always sport wings to portray their rank. They are the only rank, of all three Murdon-Creations, capable of using magical powers. They are god-like in their ways, and yes, they are immortal in life. But they age longer than other Amuni, therefore do not always look quite as pretty. Dieties are extremely rare, almost unheard of, and therefore will only be given out on special occassions.
