Ettumanoor, one of the fastest developing towns in kerala. Ettumanoor is famous for the one of the famous god Siva temples of south India. this is the only temple in the world which has EZHARAPONNANA ( 7 large one and a small elephant made of gold)
This small town is in kottayam district ,about 12 km away from kottayam town on the way to Ernakulam. One of the main roads of kerala called M.C Road (Main Central Road) passing through Ettumanoor and is connected to all important towns of kerala.
The one and only industrial estate in kerala under ministry of labor, govt. of India is situated here in Ettumanoor, near to Ettumanoor railway station. This industrial estate is stretched over about 40 acres of land . Due to its area of 40 acres, the industrial estate is called Napathekkar ( in Malayalam), Govt. of India production center, Midas rubbers, General rubbers, West cost industries , Kohinoor roller flower mills etc are a few of the major industries functioning in this estate.
Head quarters of Mahatma Gandhi University( M.G University) is about 3 km away from Ettumanoor.( the place is called Athirampuzha) this university is near to the famous Athirampuzha church. and also near to the mannanam church and K. E college. kottayam medical college and the children's hospital is just 6 km far from the town.
Agriculture is the main source of income in this place The agro-Climatic conditions in this place is best suited for rubber plantation due to that rubber is the main important agricultural product in this region. the main means of transportation is road transportation .There are two bus stations, the state owned KSRTC bus stand and private bus stand which functioning the central part of the town. The nearest airport is at Nedumbassery about 80 km away from Ettumanoor.
